Historic Charlotte

Charlotte was established in 1755 from the crossroad of two Native American trading paths. In 1768 the town was incorporated. Many of Charlotte's historic neighborhoods date back to the late 1800's and showcase fine examples of  architecture from the Arts & Crafts period.

Some of our historic neighborhoods have federal historic designation status which mean that rennovating the home is regulated by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Department. To learn more about planning a rennovation visit:

Dilworth Neighborhood

Dilworth was the first suburb of Charlotte and today is one of the closest neighborhoods to Center City although when you're in Dilworth you feel as though you are in a peaceful park far away from the hustle and bustle of Center City. Dilworth is one the most desirable in town neighborhoods and consistently increases in value.
